My name is Dorota Jarecka. I was born and raised in Poland. I’m currently enjoying living in Boulder, Colorado. I am a physicist, but I spend much more time working with software than my background suggests and much more than I had ever thought I would.
What do I blog about?
This is supposed to be a public, and more refined, version of my private “diary” about software-related challenges I encounter during my work. As in a diary, I will write about my personal experiences and will concentrate on the description of specific solutions, not on a description of the software specifically.
Some of the solutions I will present are not very difficult, but can be hard to find, especially for the specific cases I am interested in. Some of the libraries and tools I’m going to write about already have a nice description online, but I want to show examples of usage in science.
Why do I blog?
I use various blogs, forums, and the stackoverflow site almost every day. I thought that it might be a good idea to share some of my experiences with others.
There is also a more personal reason – hopefully this blog will motivate me to prepare a better source of information for future reference.
